Temps up to 115F yesterday, now this at 5:02p ET here in DC

And DC is not use to violent weather of any type!

Being in the middle of the East Coast, hurricane here in DC is unheard of

So! Anyone outside right now? Dangerous!

And i am afraid of the windows breaking!

Lots of thunder overhead!

I am grateful for my Illinois experience!

(I was actually underneath a tornado twice in my life!)

It was just as they (Illinoians) said, the sky went black, and the sound of a freight train filled the air.

Yet here, on the coast? Nearby it anyway? Hurricanes and Tropical Storms

(I thought Tropical Storms were bigger!)

80 mph winds are in Hurricane territory

The thunder has stopped

It is much cooler!

Cooking when indoors is above 80 degrees F?

It was in the 90’s before 9am a couple of days ago

I was in Roseville(?) CA and didn’t stay inside when advised to do so- 125? 115? Over 100 for sure, temperature wise.

I walked to the store

I thought my socks in my shoes were soaked from sweat

I discovered it was blood

And i barely made it to the store

Afraid to leave i was

I was stumbling around

Stayed in the air conditioning for almost 2 hrs

So,

When i heard it was gonna be 115 here in DC, i stayed indoors!

I saw who i was staying with stumbling around, drenched with sweat…

And the day before we made it home weak on our feet because of the heat?

He stayed home after i begged

Hardheaded tho

So it wasn’t easy and had to do it twice!

Sounds like rain stopped?

Maybe we can use the air conditioner again…
