We were all sitting and waiting

A Drill Sergeant came by

One who wasn’t this particular person’s assigned Drill Sergeant

He told this person, this male, to keep it down

(For his conversation was louder than anyone else, in the vicinity)

And he replied,

I don’t have to listen to you!

Idiot

It was the 1st week or two before our actual training began

Then 4 or more Drill Sergeants came

And they all started yelling orders at him

And he tried to comply

Doing push-ups, curl ups

Starting new ones

Whenever a Drill Sergeant barked a request

Then we all could tell

He was obeying one particular voice

One particular Drill Sergeant

And the other Drill Sergeants?

They walked away at that point

He learned a lesson

I am truly learning today
